The crossover points in amphion models are between 1200-1800 Hz, which are well outside the critical hearing region. All the frequencies the ear is most critical towards are produced by the tweeter. As the moving mass of the tweeter is only about 1/50 of the woofer or even the middle, transients are faster and distortion lower. Added benefits are achieved in the bass region. As the woofer does not need to handle frequencies at the middle band, the bass production is cleaner, tauter and no ringing occurs.
The highest crossover point in the amphion product range is 1800 Hz. The length of the sound wave at this frequency is about 19 cm i.e. much longer than the distance between the ears. This is of crucial importance as the ear is highly accurate in sensing the direction of sound at high frequencies i.e. when the length of the sound wave is less than the distance between human ear drums (about 12-14 cm). This improves reproduction of space information and produces pinpoint imaging.

Helium       

Due to the success of helium+ helium2 project was not rushed at any point and our design team had more than sufficient time to come up with a small benchmark speaker.

The feedback from the market indicates that the time was well spent. Well proven helium titanium tweeter together with polypropylene midrange from creon blend perfectly together to produce cohesive and natural sound. helium2 might be the most versatile amphion product yet and user friendliness and flexibility are the key words.

As speaker is fully magnetic shielded it does not present any restrictions on speaker placement or –usage. In addition to being a main speaker in a small system helium2 can be used together with a subwoofer as a superb satellite speaker. It is also important to note, that helium2 is designed to act as a center speaker.

In addition to helium2s creon and athene will be especially happy having helium2 in the middle, as they share the same drivers (25 mm titanium tweeter and 5,25 nomex bass) and have the same crossover point of 1500 Hz.8 ohm nominal and 7 ohm minimum impedance ensure, that helium2 is an easy load to any amplifier - sensitivity is 86dB.

helium2 is available in following baffle/cabinet combinations: silver/natural birch, black/cherry, silver/silver and black/black. Finnish birch veneer is used in both birch and cherry coloured versions.
